SourcedOut ("we", "us", or "our") operates the SourcedOut Chrome Extension (the "Extension"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the practices described here.

1. What We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account via Google OAuth or email/password sign-in.
LinkedIn profile URLs: The URL of the LinkedIn profile page you are viewing when you use the Extension. We collect only the URL — we do not scrape or read any LinkedIn page content.
Recruiter profile: Your name, company, job title, and outreach preferences that you voluntarily enter to personalize AI-generated drafts.
Usage data: The number of email lookups, AI draft generations, and campaign imports you perform, used to enforce your plan limits.

2. How We Use Your Information

To authenticate you and maintain your account session.
To look up professional contact information (email addresses) for LinkedIn profiles you submit.
To generate personalized AI outreach draft emails using your recruiter profile and the candidate's professional information.
To track your usage against your plan limits (free, Sourcer, or Pro).
To respond to support requests or account-related communications.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

To provide the Extension's functionality, we use trusted third-party services for the following purposes: account authentication, data storage, professional email enrichment, AI-assisted content generation, and payment processing. These services may receive limited user data strictly necessary to perform their designated function. We do not sell this data to any third party, and all third-party providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not read, scrape, or store the content of LinkedIn pages.
We do not collect browsing history outside of LinkedIn profile URLs you explicitly submit.
We do not collect keystrokes, form inputs, or clipboard contents.
We do not collect phone numbers, home addresses, or sensitive personal identifiers.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely with row-level security policies enforced, meaning each user can only access their own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.

6. Chrome Extension Permissions

The Extension requests the following browser permissions and uses them as follows:

activeTab: To read the URL of the current LinkedIn profile tab you are viewing.
storage: To store your authentication session locally so you remain logged in.
tabs: To open the OAuth sign-in popup during login.
scripting: To inject a minimal content script on LinkedIn pages to capture the profile URL.

We access only LinkedIn pages (linkedin.com/in/*, linkedin.com/talent/*, linkedin.com/recruiter/*) and do not inject scripts on any other websites.

7. Children's Privacy

SourcedOut is intended for professional use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
Export your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
